Beaver Creek Trail

Dothan boasts the only urban Forever Wild Land Trust Trail in Alabama. Winding ten miles on the northwest side of town, Beaver Creek Trail is brand new and full of challenges for trail biking and hiking. This trail is marked and easy to navigate, with two entrances – one on Flowers Chapel Road, and the other on Fortner Street. Ten miles of trail are open currently, and all ten miles will be open on October 1, 2016.

Dothan National Golf Club and Hotel

Dothan National Golf Club and Hotel features a par 72, 18-hole course designed around the natural flowing hills of lower Alabama. Lined with majestic pine trees and wildlife, this course is coupled with a hotel that offers stay and play packages. Dothan National also offers membership options.

Kilgore’s Roundabout Plantation

This player friendly, fun course is a great alternative to larger courses. Its 18 holes are surrounded by a picturesque setting with five lakes and tree lines. This championship course features tiff eagle greens, and a separate putting green and driving range are also on site.

Landmark Park

Visit an early 1900s farmstead complete with farmhouse, outbuildings, and farm animals; stroll the boardwalk and nature trail; see a planetarium show, have a picnic, or catch one of the park’s many special events. Admission is charged for this attraction.

Murals of the Wiregrass

Downtown–Start at the parking lot of the Dothan Civic Center at the corner of Main Street and St. Andrews Street at the Salute to the Peanut Industry mural on the side of Liddon Furniture. This is an ongoing project of historic murals painted by nationally and internationally acclaimed muralists on the walls of buildings in the downtown historic district. Murals display the history of the area’s peanut-based agriculture, a Tuskegee airman, Johnny Mack Brown, and even a downtown riot in the early days of Dothan. Peanuts Around Town

An exhibit of 4 foot peanuts that have been creatively designed by various artists can be found around Dothan. Maps are available at the Visit Dothan Headquarters

Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Highland Oaks

Located in the southeast corner of Alabama, Highland Oaks offers three nine-hole championship courses a nine-hole Short Course. The Highlands/Magnolia combination was named by Golf Digest's "Places to Play" as one of the nation's Great Value courses. Highland Oaks also offers a pro shop, clubhouse, grill, and membership options.

Wiregrass Museum of Art

Located in historic downtown Dothan and housed in the city's former Municipal Light and Water Plant, the Wiregrass Museum of Art collects and exhibits contemporary work by artists from Alabama and around the Southeast. Pieces from the permanent collection are on display throughout the year with temporary exhibitions that change quarterly. WMA also hosts artist workshops, educational tours and programming, film screenings, and live music.
