Charity Bike Run

and more
We have a stellar lineup for you this year!
Check out the 10th Annual Wiregrass Blues Fest line-up:
King Baby –
Deft and dynamic, King Baby’s sound balances earthy R&B, simmering soul, percolating funk, and a jazz-spiked improvisational bent – with compelling original vocal and instrumental compositions as the fulcrum. Emerging from Atlanta’s fertile, diverse music scene, King Baby assemble a uniquely compelling, invigorating sound from shards of their influences, cemented by their long-standing friendship and fearless willingness to experiment, focused with clear-eyed discipline and formidable musicianship.
Composed of Rick Lollar (guitar and vocals), Danny Paschall (drums), Kevin Scott (bass), and keyboardist (and WBS Honoree) David Adkins. King Baby harness the energy and zeal of open-ended jams to tight, evocative songcraft, making their music at once provocative and accessible.
Also featuring Tony Staffiero. The killer sax playa with Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics. If you love the saxophone, and you love dirty, funky blues, you need to know Tony Staffiero.
Sister Lucille –
Kimberly Dill / Lead Vocals
Jamie Holdren / Guitar & Vocals
Kevin Lyons / Drums & Percussion
Reed Herron / Bass
Hailing from Southwest Missouri and deeply inspired by the musical legacy of Memphis, Sister Lucille has turned the worlds of Blues, Roots and Soul on their collective head and created their own genre – Memphunk!
Ben Flournoy Trio –
Singer-songwriter and self-taught guitarist Ben Flournoy creates compelling, blues-infused pop, with nimble melodies and laid-back vocals reminiscent of icons like Eric Clapton and John Mayer.
Flournoy first picked up the guitar at age ten. Self-taught, he plays with an intensity and agility beyond his years. His debut solo album is set for release in 2023.
With Special Guest – Tim McDonald
Tim is the current touring keyboardist for Rock Legend Rick Derringer. His piano and keyboard talents have been featured with Pam Tillis, Hank Williams Jr., Olivia Newton John, Blake Shelton, Mark Chesnutt and more.
Lil’ Jimmy Reed & The Legacy Band
Still playing and touring the World.
Lil’ Jimmy Reed is the last of the original Louisiana bluesmen.
Leon Atkins, better known as Lil’ Jimmy Reed, is the real deal, as will be attested to by anyone who has been privileged to hear his stinging guitar work, gritty vocals and haunting harmonica. A tall charismatic figure, Lil’ Jimmy epitomizes the classic Louisiana down-home blues tradition.
The Legacy Band is made up of seasoned musicians Marcus Hart (bass), Keith Anderson (drums), Namon Flowers (keyboard), Tony Hawthorne (saxophone).
Big Al & The Heavy Weights –
Southern roots, bayou soul. Big Al and the Heavyweights originally formed in 1996 as the Unknown Blues Band, with founding members Al Lauro, Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band and Gov’t Mule), and pianist Rick Gergen (Sweethearts of the Rodeo). Of course, Warren is no longer in the band but Big Al has formed a solid array of musicians that features Louisiana Music Hall of Fame pianist vocalist, Wayne Lohr along with guitarist vocalist extraordinaire Marcel Anton and renowned California bassist vocalist Mark Parsons.
Special presentation to this year’s Honorees
Living Honorees- Gil Anthony & David Adkins
Deceased Honoree – Jackie Mills

Instructor: Denise Treizman
Teens and Adults
$40 for members; $50 for not-yet members
Join artist Denise Treizman for an experimental and playful art making workshop. Call it weaving, call it painting, call it collage? It doesn’t really matter when it is all about texture and fun!
Participants will start by making individual cardboard looms, which may also be painted and/or collaged before weaving. Fibers and mostly alternative and re-purposed materials will be used to weave using this cardboard support, resulting in a unique visual and textural artwork. Materials will be provided and they will range from duct tape, ropes, bubble wrap, pipe cleaners, painted paper and plastic bags, to anything you can think of. Participants are highly encouraged to dig into their kids’ drawers (and their own!) to bring in more materials if they wish. This free-form workshop will be a “no-rules just play” experience. It will expand your creativity and the way you think of everyday materials and, why not, art! Additionally, a big pre-dressed floor loom will sit in the room, allowing participants to have hands-on experience using a floor loom. Collectively we will weave an artwork that will remain on display in the studio.
Denise Treizman is an artist born and raised in Chile. She creates sculptures and installation-based works combining found objects and ready-made materials with brightly colored, textural, and sometimes luminescent weavings. Treizman earned an MFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York. Having lived in many densely populated cities over the years—Santiago, London, San Francisco, New York City, Haifa, and Miami—her practice has stemmed from and benefited from throwaway culture.

Indulge your inner artist with a two-hour glass blowing session! Hot Glass Academy glassblowing studio will set up a furnace on WMA’s campus. Each workshop session begins with a comprehensive safety introduction to working with hot glass. Students then begin their one-on-one session with the instructor by picking out one or two glass colors for their object, followed by a brief, fun warm-up with glass and tools for each student to become familiar with the material properties of molten glass. Next, students will gather glass on a steel blowpipe or rod, apply their chosen color(s), and shape the glass into the selected form. Each piece will be placed in the annealing oven for a slow cooling process*. Every object is handmade and no two are exactly the same. Students will have the option to create a cup, ornament, paperweight, or flower.
This is an EXCLUSIVE workshop. Hot Glass Academy no longer hosts workshops outside of their studio in Georgia, so make sure you reserve your spot TODAY!

ALTER BRIDGE:
Alter Bridge have steadily climbed to the forefront of hard rock worldwide. They’ve exceeded all expectations and benchmarks with over a billion streams, millions of units sold, glowing critical acclaim, real estate on the covers of Classic Rock Magazine and Guitar World, and storied sets at Royal Albert Hall, the O2 Arena and Download Festival. On this journey, 2004’s debut LP One Day Remains bowed in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top 200 and went gold. In 2007, Blackbird’s title track took flight on the wings of the “Greatest Guitar Solo of All Time,” as voted in Guitarist Magazine, while countless fans etched its lyrics and logo onto their bodies. That album also recently went gold in the United Kingdom. Critical plaudits surrounded the 2013 opus Fortress with “5-out-of-5 stars” from KERRANG! and Total Guitar, as well as Eddie Trunk’s declaration of, “A Top 10 album of the last 10 years.” 2016’s The Last Hero saw them return to the Top 10 on the Top 200. Maintaining this
momentum, Walk The Sky made impressions around the globe when it reached #1 on the US Billboard Top Albums, Top 200 Alternative Albums, Top 200 Hard Rock Albums and Top 200 Rock Albums charts, as well as #1 on Canada’s Top Hard Music
Albums chart. The album also hit #1 on the Swiss Album charts, landed in the Top 5 on the Canada, UK, Germany, Austria, Scotland and Switzerland charts and closed out the year on Loudwire’s “The 50 Best Rock Albums of 2019.” These musicians have unassumingly done all of this with a quiet dedication to writing meaningful songs and performing unforgettable shows (and they’ve delivered both with almost alarming consistency). Still, the influential quartet—Myles Kennedy [vocals, guitar], Mark Tremonti [guitar, vocals], Brian Marshall [bass], and Scott Phillips [drums]—ascend to yet another level on 2022’s Pawns & Kings [Napalm Records]. It is the culmination of almost two decades together soaked in blood, sweat, tears, and the triumph earned through never giving up. It represents the bandmates’ dedication to one another and their collective devotion to a devout fanbase.
