Talk with Santa before Christmas, play in the snow and zipline down Foster Street.  Enjoy Christmas light displays, holiday music, visits with Santa Claus, character meet and greets, s’mores, face painting and much more at Holiday Spectacular Park in neighboring  Newton, AL. The park closes out the season with fireworks on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. You can ring in the New Year at Dothan’s New Year’s Eve Countdown, with a balloon drop, kids zone, fireworks and more!

Spring

Want to find a special way to celebrate Easter this year? There are always local egg hunts and Easter Bunny events to look forward to. Be sure to check out the seasonal celebrations at the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens for plenty of springtime fun. At Landmark Park, you can attend the annual Easter Sunrise Service. It’s a free, interdenominational event to start the day off with the community on a high note.

Summer

For the 4th of July, Dothan goes all out. If you’re looking for fireworks, you can stop by Fireworks at the Fairgrounds at the National Peanut Festival or head to Holiday Spectacular Park. Fort Rucker also puts on the Freedom Fest to celebrate America’s independence. Freedom Fest features food, music, games, family-friendly activities, vendors and a large fireworks display.
