A place for teens (13-19) to hang out, mess around and geek out with others their age. S.T.E.A.M.-based activities such as robotics, 3D pens, crafts, computer coding, art, video games, etc. will be available to all at no charge. DHCLS is excited to have Raquel Jackson joining us again to share her love of yoga with you. Raquel has over 600 hours of training and has been teaching for six years. She teaches a gentle class geared towards the beginner. Her style is a flow type of yoga where you move from pose to pose, linking breath with movement. Erin Joye will be offering a ‘mommy and me’ Kindermusik playdate at the Main Library. Bring your toddlers ages 2-4 from 10:00-10:45 for a fun-filled class of music and movement specifically for your growing toddler. The class will focus on neuro-cognitive, and whole-child development using toddler-safe instruments, and other sensory props, as well as whole-body movement using music and rhythm techniques. This class is much more than just music play, it’s educational and therapeutic! Registration is required as space is limited. A caregiver is also required to be present.

You are invited to the Wiregrass Pan-Hellenic Council’s 11th Annual MLK Classic Step Show. This will be held after the Annual March/Parade and MLK Day Program. It will feature steppers from various college NPHC fraternities and sororities, local youth groups, and much more. This annual program serves multiple purposes including that of exposing our community to the “Divine 9” International Greek letter Fraternities and Sororities in the Wiregrass, providing a unique celebration of MLK’s holiday, providing an opportunity for community service, and another opportunity for our NPHC and partners to motivate the youth of the Wiregrass to attend college.

Tickets are $15. Proceeds go towards community service awards & funding collaborative projects.

The NPHC of Wiregrass Area (AL) Alumni Council represents Historically Black National Fraternities and Sororities with active graduate chapters in the Wiregrass area of Alabama. We are a Non-Profit Organization.

Toddler Hour offers an engaging experience each month, on the fourth Thursday, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Guests from as young as 14 months are invited to participate in a children’s book reading and explorable activities in one of our museum galleries. This experience allows families to explore WMA’s galleries before they open to the public—reducing crowds, noise, and overstimulation.

After the reading, guests can explore the museum at their own pace. We will have Scavenger Hunts and discussion questions available for families to enjoy together.
